The 30-minute trial costs €0 and carries no obligation. If you cannot attend, contact Jack as soon as you reasonably can. The trial can be cancelled without charge or rearranged subject to availability.
Paid lesson arrangements
Term lessons and four-week blocks are arranged personally. The family receives the included dates, total and payment arrangement in writing before the first paid booking. Unless that written summary gives the family a more favourable arrangement, withdrawal from a confirmed term requires at least 30 calendar days' written notice.
Instalments are a way to divide one full-term price; they are not separate pay-as-you-go bookings. If payment is overdue, future lessons may be paused after written notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the payment problem.
If a student wishes to stop
Tell Jack as soon as possible. During the notice period, charges are limited to lessons reasonably reserved for the student and will be reduced by loss that Music Lessons Ireland reasonably avoids, including where the regular place is filled. This is not intended to operate as a penalty or require payment for a service Music Lessons Ireland cannot provide.
A student not enjoying lessons does not by itself show that the service was defective. However, concerns about teaching, suitability or agreed requirements should be raised promptly. Jack will listen, discuss reasonable adjustments and, where the service does not meet the agreed or legally required standard, provide the remedies required by consumer law.
If Jack needs to cancel
If Jack cannot provide an agreed paid lesson, the affected lesson will be rearranged or an appropriate credit or refund will be offered. Families will not be charged for a lesson that Jack does not provide.
Online cooling-off rights
Where the statutory cancellation right for a distance service contract applies, a consumer may generally cancel within 14 days of the contract being agreed. If you expressly ask for paid lessons to begin during that period, you may be asked to pay a proportionate amount for lessons already supplied before cancellation.
Your statutory rights depend on the circumstances and are not reduced by this policy. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission provides further guidance.
How to cancel
- Contact Jack using the same contact method used to arrange the lesson.
- Give the parent/adult student name and identify the lesson or lesson agreement.
- State clearly whether you want to cancel or request a new time.
- Keep a copy of the message and Jack's acknowledgement.
If you have not yet exchanged contact details, use the signup/contact form and write “Cancellation” at the start of the optional notes.

Problems with a lesson
If a lesson was not supplied as agreed, contact Jack promptly so the issue can be put right. Nothing in this policy removes statutory remedies for services that are not supplied with the standards required by Irish law.
